Modern Guest Book Ideas
We first saw these over at Junebug, and proceeded to head straight over to Cutthecakedesigns Etsy shop to check them out for ourselves. We've had so many brides turning towards alternative guest book ideas, and these recipe card-style cards and boxes are perfect for a modern bride. Even the box is cute..no more stashing the traditional guest book on a shelf to entertain the dust.

We also loved the Post Card Wishes book..just another way to personalize your day!
Cutthecakedesigns has lots more to choose from, and also offers other items for your lifestyle...think calendars, recipe cards & boxes (for your nesting phase, of course) and more.

Inspiring Photo No. 5
Saw this photo over at Green Wedding Shoes this week. Just love the drama, but what's better is when you look at the entire wedding. Hand-crafted and high-fashion. Perfect spin on adding home-made details to a modern wedding!

Keepsake Cake Stands
We received a fantastic little promotional packet in the mail about these ditties...and we deem them cake stands to write home about:

At Wedding Cake pedestals, you get something unique to display your wedding cake, and then justify the purchase by using it for many years after the wedding. Aren't these great?
Our Top 10 For Breast Cancer Awareness
With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it's near impossible to not notice all the pink showing up lately. I personally love all the love given towards finding a cure for the disease. I've also been personally affected by the disease- my aunt, a person I was very close to and had many memories with was diagnosed with a more rare form of breast cancer...and given 18 months to live. She lived for about three more years; her undying faith and outlook on life never waivered. In those last few years she wrote a book, loved each day, and blessed her entire family with a new way to live life...she really taught us.
So now, each year, I do all that I can to support the cause. I buy pink products (all the way down to my New Balance "For the Cure" obnoxiously bright pink running shoes), I participate in races (notice I said participate...I like to think I run), and I donate however I can (my own wedding favors were two truffles in a box with a tag that read "Life Is Sweet...A Donation Has Been Made in Your Name To..."). Eventually Soiree will be a major support to the cause..it's a dream of mine and one that won't go away soon.
And without further adieu, our top 10 favorite ways to support the cause. These are listed in no particular order, although they have made the cut based on style, functionality, and amount of proceeds that go towards fighting breast cancer:
1. Rebagz Spin Dr. "Nipple Bag", $110; 2. Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics "Pink Hope Lipgloss", $21; 3. Meeble Mail email templates 4. Sweet Signatures "Dark Oreos For The Cure", $18.75; 5.) Coach Pave Turnlock Key Valet, $58; 6.) Feline Fido Breast Cancer Awareness Collars, $15;
7.) Fergie Footware "Hope" Shoe, $89; 8.) Sonia Kashuk for Target "Circle Around A Cause" set, $19.99; 9.) Lauren Merkin "Diana Bag" via Merci New York, $275; 10.) Me&Ro Breast Cancer Awareness Bracelet for Ann Taylor Loft, $34.50

Inspiring Photo No. 3
Yep, normally I like to post these photos on a Monday. Not even really sure why, I guess I just like to feel inspired to start off the week. Well I made the executive decision to bump this week's photo until today...because yesterday's post deserved to be on Monday, naturally.
This particular photo was found over at Merci New York last week. For some reason I am just continually drawn to it. I love the greens, golds, and subtle champagne palette that comes through; and I absolutely love how happy the girl looks in this photo...even though you can't see her face. Guess it emits an emotion that we all want to see on a wedding day. On a side note...this photo was also posted as part of the Williams Sonoma Giveaway happening over at Merci New York...the contest lasts until this Friday if you're interested!
Does this photo do anything for you?

DIY Wedding At Sawtooth Winery
This is a post I have been anxiously waiting for...and there were lots of good reasons to wait. This lovely DIY wedding was completely crafted by the bride for her wedding out at Sawtooth Winery in Nampa. And the bride, Katie, is also one we've featured on the blog several times; first with her inspiration board for our contest and then also this post for her super charming Etsy shop, Twigs For Pearls.
Our good friend Tana from Tana Photography emailed me when we posted about how smitten we were about fabric flowers...she had just photographed the wedding and knew we would love it. And we are so excited for Tana and Katie, as the wedding was just featured on Style Me Pretty yesterday. Congrats to you both! And now to the eye candy...

We LOVED her shoes...
The bride worked for a year crafting all the details in her intimate August wedding for 75. And the hard work paid off..the result was a perfectly personalized, charming event that reflected the couple. Read their full story as submitted by Tana as well as more photos here.

Smarty Had A Party
Whoever had the keen idea to translate the words plastic and disposable into stylish and chic really is a smarty. While we have a love for pristine china at a wedding, cute little ceramic ramekins at a party, and any thing with the words white and platter in it, sometimes disposable-ware is the way you have to go. But up until now, we've always had to cater towards plain. Not anymore, lovelies:

Picks, mini-dishes, and swizzle sticks oh my. Smarty Had A Party is the place to go when you need a refreshing look for plastic. And the best part? It's all reusable too. Now that's smart.
