Office Inspiration

We've been in our office space for a little over a year now (same building since about 2011, but last September we moved into the basement level), and once the whirlwind of wedding season came to a close this year for us, we realized that we haven't done one thing with our office since our holiday party last December. As creatives, that's sad. When we moved downstairs, we were originally faced with two main problems: 1) the lime green and orange walls (thanks, Ampersand Girls! Muah!)  and 2) the added space and the fact that we had exactly one desk, 2 ottomans, and a conference table. The space we moved from was in the ballpark of about 200 sq ft (gotta start somewhere!), and our studio is now likely more in the 1000 sq ft range. We had a lot of ground to cover. So between September and early December of last year, we went on a buying spree to purchase as much as we realistically could (thank you, slow season) to at least make it look less like a 25,000 sq ft warehouse and more like a stylish wedding planning office.

Well fast forward to the end of October 2014 and I've decided it's time to start really personalizing this space. It was such a roller coaster season that styling the office was just the last thing on the list. In fact, I don't think it even made the list. So as I've gotten more in the office planning mood, I've already seen so many inspiring images that maybe one day our studio will grow into, and here are some favorites so far. Happy Monday!

Brandi

Loving the reclaimed or vintage doors hung barn-style. Would love to do something like this to our extra-wide doorway leading into the main room of our office.

Via Domaine

Let's talk about all the beauty oozing out of Lauren Conrad's newest Paper Crown office make over. It's the perfect marriage of eclectic and sophistication- this is exactly what we are aiming for in our office. Bring on the personality and style!

With our great room being so expansive, and well, great, we are doing a little space planning on how to lay it out better. Considering moving all of our work stations into the great room with shared desk spaces to make better use of the area. And the chalkboard from designer Erin Gate's studio? That was totally the inspiration for our giant gold-framed chalkboard. We need to use it now, though...it's so pretty we never want to mark it up!

Definitely loving the mix of textures and patterns in this one!

I'll be on a pinning spree over the next few months- feel free to check more inspiration out on our pinterest pages too!

Pinterest Inspiration | Patterns & Pastels

A mixture of patterns and pastels, need I say more? I'm in love! I'm all about the mixing and the matching of stripes, polka dots, and of course, colors. I also think it's safe to say that I'm slightly obsessed with floral print these days... Do you love these combinations as much as I do?

You can find these images on my Pinterest boards, Wedding Decor Favorites, Wedding Attire Favorites, and Any Party is a Good Party. Check out what we are all are pinning these days, some pretty fabulous inspiration if I do say so myself! Brandi's pins, Michelle's pins, Annie's pins, and of course the Soiree board. Enjoy!

Here's to staying inspired!

Inspiration | Love The Season!

Aaahhh, December! Cold weather, cozy blankets, warm drinks, crackling fires and L.O.V.E! What more could you ask for!? Check out this gold inspired winter theme. Its sparkle and elegance all in one with a little holiday flair!

Happy Holidays!

Room to Wedding | Naturally Modern

This room is combining two amazingly different themes! In nature the lines are sinewy and have movement. On the other hand, when designing to create a modern feel, designers tend to use strait lines and more geometric figures and shapes. It's edgy and different yet tends to create a serene feel that I absolutely love! Notice how they pull the colors out of nature and use them to accent the room! And this cake! The general direction of the layers rise up in an angular line but the cake itself has amazing movement!

As always, happy planning!

Lifestyle | Organization

I am always looking for cute new ways to organize my crazy busy life! Here are a few tips that I'm planning to try myself! Hope you find them helpful!

I LOVE movies and have a ton! I get really sick of looking at all the DVDs lined up on my bookshelf though. It is NOT attractive. Try this cute and practical tip that can declutter any shelf!

Love this idea, it's my favorite! This fab DIY enthusiast purchased these clipboards from a dollar store, then covered them in scrap wallpaper. There are some very stylish wrapping paper options out there as well. These can be used to organize to-do lists, recipes, bills, even photos or design inspiration! It's a cure all for the mess of papers on your desk!

If you're a pack rat like me and refuse to get rid of the clothes that you're convinced you'll wear again, this tip may help you kick that habit. First flip all of your hangers backwards. After you've worn something face the hanger forward in its normal position. Anything left facing backward after a year? Say a few words in commemoration, then toss it into the donation pile:) Sometimes we just need a little motivation:)

Happy organizing!

Inspiration | Paper Flowers

As usual, I was up doing some late night pinning on Pinterest the other night searching for some inspiration. I stumbled across these paper flower backdrops, perfect for any event, and I immediately wanted to start crafting! These were my absolute favorites- stunning, bold, unique, I think it's safe to say I may be crafting some paper flowers of my own in the near future...

     Enjoy!

Room to Wedding | Textured Statement

Split faced travertine is one of my favorite statement making finishes. The focal wall in this dining room has a texture that demands attention without being too garish. Instead of using bold colors or patterns to make your statement, you can use bold textures! These examples are simple by definition but the different textures make them stand out creating a unique and impacting look!

Happy middle of the week!
Enjoy!

Room to Wedding | Old World Meets New

This mantle piece has so much character yet is so simple. This old world look is a beautiful and interesting way to make the day of your dreams stand out. When you think about the time that has gone by and about where you are today versus where you were, be inspired by your memories! Use this theme to create a story that's rich and unforgettable for you and your guests. Use everyday objects as art and add your own personal touches that your friends and family can cherish forever.

Enjoy!

Room to Wedding | Beach House

Well, being a college student, this time of the year is especially hard. As I sit here "studying" for my exams, I can't help but daydream about a beach breeze and the sounds of waves crashing on the shores with some pineapple or coconut concoction in my hand. This room and deck are perfect examples of where I am relaxing in my daydreams. The use of the sisal rug creates a warm tone that pulls you into the space and the turquoise accents partner with the hue of the water and create a pop of color. A beach wedding doesn't have to be defined by cliche seashells or coconut drink holders (yes I have been there and seen that, it wasn't pretty). It can have a soft and relaxing elegance that you, your groom and of course your guests can enjoy.

Keep daydreaming!

Inspiration | Royal Purple

I saw this vintage couch on Pinterest and was instantly inspired! Not only by the color but also by the beautiful wood detail. It is such a dramatic piece that is sure to create a bold statement. This "royal purple," as I like to call it, is actually found quite often in nature! So while you're outside playing in the sun, look around and see what colors inspire you. You may be surprised at what you find!

Happy May!

Inspiration | Hairstyles

Here are some wedding hair styles that are in vogue this spring and summer. Whether your hair is short or long there are several options that you can pull inspiration from. Create your own trend with a beautiful hair piece or a floral element that couple with these untied soft looks.

Inspiring Photo No. 66

Isn't it so true! I think Monday is the perfect cheat day! So go out there and beat those Monday blues by satisfying that sweet tooth. Happy Monday!

6 Holiday Gift Wrap Favorites

Every year I try to pick out 2-3 coordinating patterns or designs for gift wrap....there's just something about looking at your tree and seeing all of the gifts sitting so pretty together. Now that I have a kiddo, I also try to find a balance between my aesthetics and kid-friendly designs that appeal to little eyes too- so we've seen the likes of vintage santas and colorful reindeer- but I still try to take it up a notch with trimming and coordinating. By having everything coordinate, from the wrap to the ribbon, it all becomes a really beautiful statement piece in your home. So without further adieu, here are 6 holiday wrapping paper favorites I've come across so far in my search for this year's theme:

Gold + Kraft | Vintage winter dachsunds

Flamenco Paper | Herringbone Gift Wrap

~Happy gifting, and happy wrapping- only two more weeks to go!

Inspiration Sneak Peek | Pretty Fall Metallics

We recently finished a fall style shoot with an amazing group of vendors, and this one was so different than any other we've done to date so far. We'll be sharing all of the amazing photos soon, but until then, a little teaser to whet your whistle:

The shoot was inspired by oyster pink, plum purple, and mixed metals- much like the makeup palettes you'll see in department stores this year (in fact, that's a Bobbi Brown fall eye shadow palette right there). What do you think? Would you be inspired to design a wedding or fall party around these colors and concepts?
